- How do I get started?
- 1. Navigate to www.kidzui.com
- 2. Click on the button that reads “Download FREE”
- 3. Follow the prompts in the pop-up to install KidZui. The kids‘ browser should automatically launch.
- 4. If the kids‘ browser does not automatically launch, double click on the KidZui “K” on your desktop.
- 5. Click on the button that reads “sign-up for a new kid‘s account”
- 6. Follow the steps to create a Zui, as well as choose a unique screen name and password for your child‘s account. You will also be asked to enter a valid email address to activate your child‘s account.
- 7. After successfully creating your child‘s account, please check your email to activate the account.
- 8. You will receive an email in the inbox of the account used to create your child‘s Zui.
- 9. Follow the prompts in the email, and click on the activation link.
- 10. Once you have successfully activated your child‘s account, return to your desktop, and double click on the KidZui "K" to launch the KidZui browser.
- 11. Your child‘s activated Zui should appear, and their Zui name and password should be auto-completed.
- 12. If your child‘s Zui does not appear, please enter their Zui name and password into the text boxes in the upper right-hand corner and click “login.”
- What is the difference between the parent website and the children‘s browser?
- KidZui offers a unique experience to both parents and children. Parents have the ability to view reports detailing their children‘s activity within KidZui. To access the parent site, enter your email and parent password into the login section in the upper right-hand corner off the screen. Remember: KidZui.com is for parents only.
- The kid experience takes place within the KidZui browser, which is a downloadable application that locks your child in to ensure the only content they see is KidZui-approved. To have your child log in, please double click the orange 'K' icon located on your desktop to launch the browser. From here, your child will be able to login with their Zui/user name and kid password.
- How do I ensure my child doesn‘t close out of KidZui to access the Internet?
- The KidZui browser can launch in two different formats: locked and un-locked. When the browser is not locked, children have the ability to close KidZui and access other applications. If KidZui does not automatically launch in the locked version and you want to lock it, just follow these directions:
- 1. After launching KidZui by double clicking on the KidZui “K” icon on your desktop, you will be taken to the child login screen.
- 2 .Please click on the Parental Controls tab, which can be found in the bottom left-hand corner
- 3 .You will be taken to the Parent Login screen. Please enter your parent email address and parent password, then click Authorize.
- 4.You will come to the KidZui Settings screen. There a 3 options to choose from. Checking any will enable the action.
a. KidZui should always run in full screen – Your child will not be able to minimize the KidZui browser to navigate to Internet Explorer, or any other application on your computer.
b. User must enter a password to exit KidZui – You will have to enter your parent password to close KidZui, which also will ensure your child cannot navigate to KidZui, or any other application on your computer.
c. Start KidZui when the computer starts – KidZui will automatically launch when your computer starts.
- 5 .Click on the red X next to Parental Controls on the top left to return to the KidZui login screen.
- By enabling options A and B, your password will be required to exit KidZui. When your children click the red "X", they will only be taken to the browser login screen. To completely exit KidZui, enter your parent password.
- Where do the parents login?
- To login to the parental website, navigate to www.kidzui.com. In the upper right-hand corner, please enter your parent email and parent password and select login. Remember that your parent password is different than your child’s password, and should have been created through an email that was sent to your inbox. If you did not receive this email, contact support@kidzui.com
- Where do the children login?
- Once you have successfully downloaded and installed KidZui, you will receive an email prompting you to activate your child’s account. If you have not received this email, please contact support@kidzui.com. After activating your child’s account, you are ready to use KidZui!
- Please double click on the orange KidZui "K" that is located on your desktop. This will take you to the kid login screen, where you should see your child’s Zui, as well as their saved name and password. Simply click the green login button, and you will be taken to the KidZui homepage!
- If you do not see your child‘s Zui, simply enter their Zui name and password into the text boxes in the upper right-hand corner, and press login to be taken to the KidZui homepage!
- What can children do when they become KidZui friends?
- On KidZui, your child can add friends by directly typing in the screen name of the person with whom they want to be friends. They are not allowed to simply search for other users. Each child must approve the friendship in order to be able to share content with one another, and parents have the ability to block individual friends or block your child from having friends all-together on the parent website. The first time your child adds a friend or receives an invitation to add a friend. Clicking on the link in the email will take you to a page that allows you to make these changes.
- Please note that sharing KidZui-approved content is the only action kids can take. There can be no messaging or chatting between the two.
- How can I unlock more features for my Zui?
- Become a member! KidZui believes children should be rewarded for their curiosity, so once your child is a KidZui member, the more he or she explores and uses KidZui, the more points he or she will earn. As points increase, so do levels, and as your kids move up levels, additional items that are locked currently will become available.
